When a player falls, you will have a change of color similar to when you have a real game. You can also see some cautions just the same way a referee will always correct and take precautions. Hopefully this qill be a quick and easy question for someone to answer.Recently I have been having problems with my Portal 2 installation. Sometimes when I started the game, it failed to connect to the Steam community (meaning I could not access the workshop in-game), and I would have to restart. Other times, the menus would scroll automatically upwards - as if the mouse was stuck permanently moving up - also necessitating a restart. Verifying the game files through Steam did not solve the problem. Therefore I decided to re-download the game from scratch.

I renamed the 'Portal 2' directory in steamapps/common to 'Portal 2old', and re-downloaded. Result - problems fixed.

Great. The only thing is, now I want to retrieve the local puzzle maker maps which I had previously made. Obviously they're located within the old installation somewhere.

Portal 2 save game location non steamNear

Unfortunately, it seems that the file names do not match up with the map names, so a search did not help. I found a couple of locations where I.thought.

they would be:. Portal 2/sdkcontent/maps/instances etc. Portal 2/portal2/maps/puzzlemaker/ etc. And therefore I backed up the 'new' download, and re-copied across the contents of these directories from my old installation.

However when I went back into the game, my old maps were nowhere to be seen.Could anyone please tell me exactly where my old local chambers will have been stored, and which directories I should copy across?By the way - also mysterious is that when I go into the puzzle maker in the new installation, I don't even see the 'published' chambers which I previously published. I would have thought that since my Steam account is linked to my Portal 2 developer ID, my published workshop chambers should appear in the list. But they don't. So something else may be missing, which is possibly present in the directories of the old installation.Grateful for any light shed on this! Has anyone else experienced anything similar?I was making a chamber in the puzzle maker, and I had the same problem. For some reason, now whenever I try to load up the puzzle maker from within Portal 2 itself, the game crashes.

I copied the files for my saved chambers, thanks to you telling me where to find them, and I' m going to re-install Portal 2, and copy my saved chambers back in. I'll see if that fixes it. Thanks for the advice.
