Says:hi all,i just followed the flickr blog link about lomokev visiting SF, and found this wee review of the EP1 on his site. He seems to quite like it, which is unsurprising given his usual shooting preferences.5:51AM, 9 October 2009 PDTsays:Technopolis in the FT's 'How to Spend it' loved it, too 118 months agosays:I agree with them 100%!!!Although I feel compelled to test it's AF speed, user interface, etc, all of that is overridden by how much I love holding it and using it. And the jpgs out of the camera are stellar. (Again, still getting a feel for its strengths and weaknesses.

Not enough time.)I am seriously considering getting one when the price of the used ones drop. I suspect the next model will be less attractive to me, because the size of this one with the pancake is a real seller.I'm also going to force myself to check out the Panasonic offerings, but I've never liked their build.118 months agosays:This is why lomokev likes it:'.The pinhole might as well be called Lomo mode, this was the one for me you could take photos of inanimate objects and they would look great.' 118 months agogrey cub deleted says:It really is a great little camera.118 months agosays:-ki- The only trouble I have with Panasonic µ4/3 offerings is their incompatibility with my stock of 4/3 glass. With the E-P1 and the MMF-1 adapter, I can still use them all!E-P1 + 12-60mm SWDE-P1 + Leica D 25mmE-P1 + 50-200mm SWDAnd, by the way, did I mention that the Panasonics lack sensor-stabilization?118 months agosays:Thx.

I've been thinking about OM glass - maybe about 100mm. And a smaller one around 40-50mm would also be nice. Of course, I don't even own a µ4/3 yet! This one is on loan from a friend.LOL. I love that the b&w grainy filter can turn some worthless things into blog-able quality.

I just purchased the om to m4/3. Oly and Panasonic really have done something special. EP-1 OM 501.4Originally posted 118 months ago.grey cub edited this topic 118 months ago.

Since nobody seemed to want to showwhyLSF jpgs are apparently better than LF jpgs in another thread I thought I'd go ahead and try it for myself and for others who might be interested. Not an artistic photo by any stretch but this was shot RAW then converted in camera to Large Normal, Large Fine, and Large Super Fine jpgs. It's obvious from the file sizes which is which, but for the life of me I can't see any difference between even the LN jpg let alone the LF jpg and the LSF jpg. What am I missing that makes the LSF jpg better? The full size images are in my gallery if you want to download and play with them, or I can email you them if you wish. Or if somebody wants a different scene shot then just let me know and I'll try to oblige.Any thoughts form anyone?Nick.
