I remember for 3 the best possible character required 9 points in INT. Is this video outdated?How else can I guarantee the maximum number of points for a character? I will be taking the Educated perk, but with the level cap now 50, are those extra 3 points per level it really needed?

Can we max out all skills by leveling to 50 alone? Same with the Comprehension perk.Also, what about implants? If you want 10 all Specials and full skills, knock yourself out, but it would definitely be better to pick up some legitimate perks instead.Which reminds me, FNV forces you down one path slightly harder than F3 as far as perks go. You're not going to be able to have all the best perks for every combat style. Don't bother trying to maximize Special.The trap a lot of players fall into is they view maxed Special as the 'perfect' character, but you only have 25 perks to choose in total. Every perk spent on a SPECIAL stat is a lost perk from your total. What's more, many of the perks are designed to be superior to a SPECIAL stat.

You'll find your Reload speed gets much faster using Rapid Reload than it does from adding one Agility, and this same pattern continues for all perks.Top tier SPECIAL stats in New Vegas are Endurance and Luck, whereas FO3 it was pretty much Intelligence and Perception. Due to certain mechanics of New Vegas, Intelligence and Perception are actually pretty low on the priority list, with Perception only being justified by unlocking some nice perks (Better Criticals) and Intelligence being inefficient when you go above 6. Something similar happens with STR and you can usually afford to take off a point or 2 of STR from what you were aiming for.

Agility is also good while Charisma I consider to be surprisingly underrated since some of the companions get extremely potent when they're accompanying a high charisma character.
