When Do You Decay In League Of Legends
Self explanatory title. I'd start decaying today but I have an examweek and only time for one game. I queued up and got into a game that got.
Hello Overwatch community, these is my general thoughts and 2 cents on the recent (as well as the current) changes to the decay system in Overwatch Competitive. Hopefully I have posted this in the correct forum and I hope we can keep the this discussion civil. Now I've been diamond for the past 3 seasons running and the main thing that has put me off wanting to push higher is the decay system. A few times I have played one ranked game, gained 20-30 rating and then the very next morning (approximately 15-18hrs later) lost 15-20 rating due to decay. I personally feel like I HAVE to que each and every week otherwise I will be punished and when you start forcing players to play it, quickly becomes a job and becomes unfun (this is how I feel). Now, there are changes coming up that mean you have to play less games and the decay is less brutal but, it now effects players from silver all the way up to GM.
Personally, I dont think it should effect those in silver, gold or plat and that by doing so, you're just turning more players away from queing ranked. I can see alot of players only queing during the last few days of a season just to avoid any sort of decay. It feels like you're forcing your community to que each and every week otherwise they will be punished and although I agree that there should be some sort of decay, I think it should just effect those at the high end of things and not everyone else. I feel as though the time before the decay kicks in should be slightly longer (10-14days perhaps). Now other games for example (if im allowed to talk about them). In CSGO players start to decay 1-2(roughly) months of not playing. In League of Legends players that dont que after 28 days start to decay (10 days if you're Master or Challenger).
They may be different games but still have a rating system and I think its still relevant to this discussion. Anyway, let me know what you guys think and hopefully it helps the devs with the feedback, just my 2 cents. Does ELO in Go decay? Why does Blizzard think it's a great idea to auto-delete hard earned ranking points? Because the devs who had this idea are 'special'? Sorry, I'm not sure I will even have the incentive at all to play ranked next season if I have to play games just to NULLIFY the decay of my earned points in the first place, what a retarded system. The purpose is to prevent rank camping. That is, playing a few games at the beginning of the season, getting top 500, and then not playing (or ranking up smurfs) till reward time.
Arguably rank camping is only a problem in grandmaster+, but where to draw the line is a judgement call.
